Basically, some of you probably found this site using a search engine right? So let me tell the most popular search terms you use, as well as some rather amusing ones that, well, amuse me.

PV Channel
Ahh, Promotional Videos. Love it, hate it.
This post will be a sort-of review center for PV. Whether it be some purely obscure anime PV that won’t even get MTV Japan airplay, or maybe some cool mainstream jpop song, I’ll try to watch it and make some comments. Of course, you won’t enjoy my blabber if you haven’t seen the PV yourself, so I’ll conveniently link a video source.
I’ve been thinking about this kind of feature for a while actually, but back then it wasn’t a good idea, seeing that not all people will be able to watch the video themselves. All hail YouTube and all the other video streaming sites, now it’s possible!
This post will continually be updated whenever I feel like watching a PV or two, so please do check up on it. You can talk about your nice PV recommendations too!

Meido Flu Strikes Millions: Details on CNN
This is more or less the first time I’ve ever seen CNN run an otaku-based feature on cable television (news article in the link above). I’m quite sure there ‘were’ more I have not seen, because really, the report seemed to emphasize not only on the recent “maid cafe boom”, nor the otaku, but also the unknown fact that this so-called “otaku economy” is a 4 BILLION DOLLAR industry! Investors… we’re talking to you.
That aside, this seemed like a pretty lighthearted feature. Less emphasis was made on otaku being the social misfits. Otaku = geek is a bit right on the money, as opposed to anime = pr0n (media people know more stuff than politicians sometimes). Casual viewers of CNN may have been in shock seeing geeky people being served by skimpy-outfitted maids, but I guess this is one way of showing the world that there is this whole reverse side of Japan other than being the ‘cool’ nation of Asia. But who knows, as maid cafes go mainstream in Japan, maybe these otaku stuff will also become ‘cool’ to other cultures around the world… and even follow suit. Densha Otoko wasn’t a wasted show after all.
So what would be purpose of the report, other than people going to Japan, wait 30 minutes on a maid cafe queue and try to be otaku for a day? Me? No matter how much I like anime and those other semi-otaku stuff, I just couldn’t/can’t/won’t fit in that kind of crowd. I’d laugh all the way through inside the cafe. Even if I don’t intend my genuine laugh to be insultive, those otakus will transform into yakuza gang members and give me a heavy beating. Wouldn’t want that to happen right?

(I was half-hoping Atika Shubert to try one of those maid outfits during the report… so… er… just kidding.)
Project Hiatus 2: Cardcaptor Sakura
Before bluemist anime blog @ animeblogger.net, and before the old bluemist anime blog (gone now), my very first web project was a relatively unpopular Cardcaptor Sakura fansite, called the bluemist cardcaptor sakura anime reference. As you can see, it’s also gone now and incomplete. After having this anime blog, I never got to finish that site.
Maybe it was boredom or a change of hype, since I was more into [ToHeart2->], [bishoujo games->summer-of-bishoujo] and [live-action->live] stuff last year. Nevertheless, Cardcaptor Sakura remains and still is the very root of all the anime evil that I’ve been writing about up until now. Yes, being my personal best anime EVER, I blame Cardcaptor Sakura for my anime fandom, and I realized that it is somewhat a necessity for me to finish what I have started, that old site itself.
I decided to do this now since I am not quite active in the latest anime season anyway, because of lack of interest for certain new anime. I also decided to finish that CCS unfinished business, in order to move on to some… er… bigger, [MORE IMPOSSIBLE->doremi] stuff very soon. I’m also predicting that real life obligations will take more pieces of time away from me yet again.
And so in line with this, I will be putting this blog on a certain semi-hiatus state. Updates may be few and far between again, just like [last time->project-hiatus], whenever I just feel like it. I’ll be doing the CCS site and this blog in a more casual manner, in the hopes of fitting into my busy schedule.
Actually, I’m still debating on whether to incorporate my CCS site into this anime blog as a project as well. It may be too much work, but it should be perfect for my [Retro->] status isn’t it?
In any case, that’s it. I’m still here, but I’ll be less active… as if I am active at all. Bye for now.
Ns’ Aoi
Usually I follow only the highest-rating jdorama, but since this season’s #1 jdorama doesn’t seem too interesting to me (it’s the overworked story of Saiyuuki), I’m gonna pick some less popular series that may have potential. Pretty girls are a plus.
How about a pretty nurse?
Ns’ Aoi seems to be based on a manga, which I don’t think has been licensed nor translated. If anything, I can say that this is an equivalent of your usual “great teachers” (GTO’s Onizuka and Gokusen’s Yankumi), except that she’s a nurse in a hospital. Misora Aoi is a newbie nurse at this hospital. All seems fine, until she realizes she has some problems with many of the staff there. As an institution, this hospital has some interestingly weird “politics” going on. And that sometimes saving lives doesn’t seem top priority. As our idealistic main character, Aoi-chan goes to great heights and performs duties beyond what a nurse is set out to do, all for her patients.
Nurse me too! Ehem… err…
Ishihara Satomi topbills this drama, and is one hawt girl indeed. Nothing else seems to be special, so I’m not expecting big things.

XBOX XRATED
Since I saw some preview videos on MTV featuring Xbox 360, my mouth watered on how much graphics technology has improved in games. One particular game of note was this racing game which totally blew me away, it was the most realistic-looking racer I have ever seen! I thought, man, X360 is gonna rock.
While I absolutely won’t buy that console, I would be delighted to play it once in a while. Here we have shops which have console gaming rentals at cheap rates per hour, so it’s possible that I can see and play a X360 soon. Seems that Microsoft has the edge because it has an early lead with the other next-gen consoles PS3 and Revolution.
Not quite in Japan.
News sources seem to tell that the Xbox 360 launch isn’t as big… as expected? Or at all? Hmm… how many thousands did they sell so far? Quite incomparable to any recent console launch. I recall PS2 selling a million in Japan on just one day, if I’m not mistaken. That one is l33t.
Now check this out… X360 launches in Japan at almost the same time as [To Heart 2: XRATED->] right? Wanna guess which sold better? Which lines are for X360 and which are for TH2X?

Ok fine, my current favorite game is absolutely no match for a giant game console in the long run, but isn’t it great to feel that somehow TH2X outsold X360 on launch day? a bishoujo game seemed more successful than an entire game console? Whahahaha! Microsoft just got a beating from some bishoujo girls! W00t!

Project Hiatus
Ok, this is it.
Goodbye for 1 month and a half!
Because of studies, I have to be virtually inaccessible until halfway through November. Don’t worry, I’ll try to catch up on stuff afterwards, so please do visit me again by that time.
There’s a catch. Well, this is a maybe, a BIG maybe, but you may see “surprise posts” from me within my hiatus period! It’s most probable especially for the To Heart 2 anime coverage.
